A Brief History of Osborne

Fall 2004 - Jacob & Norene placed on the same worship team. Eventually, they spend pretty much all their spare time together "just as friends;" a term when used induces snickers and winks from all.

Fall 2005 - Norene begins teaching history and government at Auburn Mountainview High School. It was a rough start: part time, not hired until October, three days before Grandma Goodman gets to go hang out with Jesus. However the job is awesome, and she is starting her seventh year this fall.

July 2006 - Norene buys a condo. Talk about bad timing for real estate. But it's okay; she's making this condo a home, gosh darnit!

11/9/2006 - Jacob asks Norene to marry him after a lovely dinner, during a walk around The Pond.

4/7/2007 - Jacob and Norene marry

For some reason I don't have any of our wedding pictures in digital format, so here: enjoy a picture from our honeymoon!

Summer 2007
- Norene starts her Masters Degree at CWU Des Moines...of course she's been procrastinating a bit on her pro-cert.

Summer 2008 - Jake gets laid off from Weyerhaeuser (along with a LOT of people), but gets a new, better paying job as a Microsoft consultant three months later before the severance ends.

12/7/2008 - Jake gets laid off (along with A LOT MORE other people). Norene's school district retirement consultant calls this time period in economic history "the debacle."

12/17/2008 - Ella is born at 39 weeks! 8 pounds, 4 ounces; 19.75" long.

Please, ignore the nose...well, not Ella's...you get the point.

June 2009 - Norene graduates with her Masters. (One would think it would count for a pro-cert, but one would be wrong. Thanks bunches, OSPI).

7/1/2009 - God answers our prayers and Jacob starts as a Microsoft vendor. Lessons learned from Microsoft - Jacob doesn't want to work for Microsoft.

Daily life rolls on...

March 2011 - Norene gets put on bedrest due to pregnancy induced hypertension with warning signs of preeclampsia. As word to the wise: bedrest sucks. It is not restful, it is not relaxing, it is not enjoyable. Never EVER wish for it. Ye be warned.

April 2011 - Jacob switches vendor rolls to a higher paying, but way suckier, job.

4/29/2011 - Layla is born at 38 weeks! 8 pounds, 3 ounces (almost 4); 18.75". We were very blessed that she was able to cook that long!

No nose, other than the important one, in this picture!

July 2011
- Jacob escapes Microsoft and begins his career as a statistical analyst for Lockheed Martin working with the FAA!

Here we are! A happy, healthy family of four, waiting to see what God has planned for us next!
